Tuesday, June 4 @ 10:30 AM: Feelings Rock with Miss Katy (suggested ages NB to 5)

A music, movement and more program designed to help our youngest learners work through everyday emotions.

 

Saturday, June 8 @ 10:30 AM: PAWS for People: Read! (suggested ages 3 and up)

Reading to dogs can boost reading skills in children as well as help with emotional and social skills. The goal of the program is for participants to gain confidence and increase their reading fluency.

 

Saturday, June 8 @ 11:00 AM: Adventure Begins at Redden Forest (all ages)

Let’s start our summer adventure outdoors with a kick-off party at Redden State Forest. Activities, games, treats, and lots of fun!

 

Monday, June 10 @ 4:00 PM: Teen Craft: Air Dry Clay (ages 12 to 17)

Air dry clay is a type of clay that hardens without the need for baking. Use your creativity and sculpt colorful designs! *Due to limited supplies, registration is required for this program. Please register online at milton.lib.de.us. 

 

Tuesday, June 11 @ 10:30 AM: Pictures Come to Life (suggested ages 3 and up)

Let’s start our summer reading program with storyteller and artist Jeff Hopkins who will bring pictures to life in front of our eyes. This program will include audience participation, movement, sounds, and drawings.

 

Wednesday, June 12: Take a Hike Scavenger Hunt

Pop into the library any time today to pick up your Take a Hike scavenger hunt list. Get outside and explore! When you have found everything on the list, bring it back to the library to receive a prize.

 

Wednesday, June 12 @ 4:00 PM: Teen Virtual Reality Headset (ages 12 to 17)

Enjoy an immersive 3D experience with our Oculus Rift Headset.

 

Thursday, June 13 @ 10:30 AM: Adventure Crafts at Your Library (suggested ages 3 and up)

In this program, we will be creating a tissue paper tropical fish.

 

Thursday, June 13 @ 4:00 PM: Teen Nintendo Switch Tournament: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (ages 12 to 17)

Compete in our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament. Controllers will be provided. Matches will be one-on-one, challengers eliminated after one loss. Prize for the first-place winner!

 

Saturday, June 15 @ 10:30 AM: Teen Magic: The Gathering (ages 12 to 17)

Play the popular fantasy-themed card game, in which players cast spells, summon creatures, and exploit magical objects to defeat their opponents.

 

Monday, June 17 @ 10:30 AM: Little Explorers Book Club (suggested ages 4 to 7)

In this program, we will be discussing the book My Very First Outdoor Book by Minna Lacey and Abigail Wheatley and illustrated by Jane Newland. Books will be available for checkout at the library. Please have the book read and ready to discuss. There will also be an activity following the discussion. This program will take place in the gazebo at the Milton Memorial Park.

 

Monday, June 17 @ 4:00 PM: Teen Design a Button (ages 12 to 17)

Design your own 1-inch pinback button using the library’s button maker!

 

Tuesday, June 18 @ 10:30 AM: Farmer Talks (all ages)

Listen to agricultural professionals talk about their jobs, lives, and careers. Plus, meet some cute animals! This program will take place at Milton Memorial Park.

 

Tuesday, June 18 @ 4:00 PM: Teen Craft: Beyoncé-Inspired Rhinestone Sunglasses (ages 12 to 17)

Decorate a pair of cat eye sunglasses with sparkly rhinestones. *Due to limited supplies, registration is required for this program. Please register online at milton.lib.de.us. 

 

Thursday, June 20 @ 10:30 AM: Adventure Crafts at Your Library (suggested ages 5 and up)

We will be making a color n’ throw boomerang. See the colorful designs spin through the air!

Do you love anime? Join us on June 25th to watch The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic. This program is rated TV-14.

 

Wednesday, June 26: Bird Watch Quest Scavenger Hunt

Pick up a birding journal and identify the birds hidden around the library. You can pop in any time today to complete this scavenger hunt. Have fun!

 

Wednesday, June 26 @ 4:00 PM: Teen Craft: Heartstopper Keychain (ages 12 to 17)

Tuesday, July 16 @ 10:30 AM: DASEF – Your Passport to Adventure & Fun (suggested ages 5 and up)

Where else can you travel around the world, meet an endangered species, and build like an architect all in one place? YOUR LIBRARY!

Travel to different stations to fill your passport book with stickers after completing each activity. Explore the globe and find places you have visited or would like to visit; explore a suitcase packed with items to identify and see how they work; use a map to follow roads and highways; create a structure and so much more!
